  1. Green Reads: Environmental and social justice book reading for children - Join our weekly nature and community-based story and crafting time. Happening every week during Open Streets. Read books that explore environmental and social justice issues and participate in discussions and activities that help us take action and make a positive impact on our communities and the planet.

    1. Book Club: Host a book club where participants can read and discuss environmental books.

    2. Action Items: Provide participants with action items related to the topics discussed in the book club to encourage them to take action on environmental issues.

    3. Public Readings: Host public readings of environmental books in public spaces to promote environmental awareness and inspire action.










  1. Mulberry Festival, Food Justice: Join us in June for a month-long celebration of mulberries! Learn how to make superfood concoctions such as mulberry jam, smoothies, ice cream, kombucha, cakes, and more. Discover the health benefits of mulberries and the importance of supporting local food systems.

    1. Mulberry Jam Making: Organize a jam-making workshop where participants can learn how to make mulberry jam using locally sourced mulberries. Participants can take home their jam and share it with friends and family.

    2. Mulberry Smoothie Station: Set up a smoothie station where people can blend their own mulberry smoothies using fresh mulberries and other locally sourced fruits and vegetables.    



  1. Mulberry Ice Cream Making: Host an ice cream-making workshop using fresh mulberries and other locally sourced ingredients. Participants can take home their ice cream and enjoy it with friends and family.

  2. Mulberry Kombucha Workshop: Teach participants how to make kombucha using mulberries and other locally sourced ingredients. Participants can take home their kombucha and enjoy it with friends and family.

  3. Mulberry Cake Decorating: Host a cake-decorating workshop using mulberries and other locally sourced ingredients. Participants can take home their cakes and enjoy them with their friends and family.


  1. Herbal Teas and Wellness Justice Month: In August, let's focus on promoting wellness and self-care by making and sharing herbal teas made with local herbs. Learn how to create immune-boosting, calming, energizing, and love teas. Discover the healing properties of different herbs and the importance of caring for our bodies and minds.

    1. Herbal Tea Making: Host a workshop where participants can learn how to make herbal teas using local herbs. Participants can take home their teas and enjoy them for their immune wellness and calming, energizing, or love-promoting properties.

    2. Tea Tasting: Set up a tea-tasting station where people can try different types of herbal teas and learn about their benefits.

    3. Herbal-Infused Oils: Teach participants how to make herbal-infused oils using local herbs. Participants can take home their oils for various purposes like massage, cooking, and skincare.

    4. Herbal Salve Making: Host a salve-making workshop using local herbs. Participants can take home their salves and use them for various purposes like skincare, healing, and first-aid.

    5. Herb Garden Tour: Take participants on a tour of local herb gardens and teach them about the benefits of different herbs.

    1. Art Supplies: Provide participants with art supplies from compostable materials like paper, cardboard, natural dyes, and even DIY clay made from your compost link!

    2. Art Sculpture Contest: Host an art sculpture contest where participants can create sculptures using compostable materials.

    3. Art Sculpture Display: Display the sculptures created by participants in a public space to raise awareness about composting and sustainable art.
